Sally Smith, PhD, LPC

Have your feelings started to feel out of control? Does it seem like you can’t manage things on your own anymore? We all have feelings, and when they start to get overwhelming we can only make it so far by ignoring them or covering them up with distractions. The journey to understand and deal with your feelings can be painful, but I believe it is well worth it. Sometimes that journey is something you can manage on your own, and sometimes you need some help from an outside resource.

If you are finding yourself in need of another resource, I would be honored to join you on that journey by serving as your counselor. In our counseling sessions, you can expect to gain insights regarding the underlying causes of your struggles as well as support and direction for how to turn those insights into lasting changes. Counseling is not often easy or simple, but it is definitely worth it!

About Sally Smith:

I started at Restoration many years ago as a student intern, and it’s been such a blessing to stick around and grow into who I am as a counselor and leader while working here! My whole worldview and approach to counseling is based on the Bible and what it has to say about God, humans, sin, grace, and life in general. Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor, and I rely on his wisdom through the Holy Spirit to guide me in the counseling process. I will work with and respect the beliefs (or lack thereof) of any client I work with, but I am uniquely equipped to counsel those who want their Christian faith to be a part of their counseling process.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time outside, listening to audiobooks, traveling, doing puzzles, having campfires, being with friends, cooking, watching the Saints, and drinking tea. I value cultivating intentional friendships, especially with people from different countries or cultural backgrounds than me.

Christian Perspective

Restoration’s worldview and approach to counseling are informed by the Bible and what it has to say about God and humans, sin and grace, and suffering and healing. We seek to partner with the Holy Spirit and with you to bring about lasting change in your life. We are competent to work with you to integrate your faith beliefs into your counseling process.

Although we are unapologetically Christian in our approach to counseling, we welcome clients from all (or no) faith backgrounds. We work respectfully with you according to your wishes about how to incorporate or not incorporate faith beliefs into your counseling process.
