Mallory Footman, PLPC
Stating that life can be painful and complicated is an understatement, and understanding how to navigate it all on our own can be overwhelming. You deserve a space where you can lay your burdens down and begin to understand your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Finding hope in the pain and suffering in life can be hard when you can’t see a way out. Hope is never far out of reach, we sometimes just need a reminder of where to look for it. True healing comes from addressing all areas of a person. Together we will look at your thoughts, emotions, physical health, relationships, and spiritual life to help you understand each area, how they interact, and the impact they have on your life.
Areas of Focus:
- Child and Adolescent Counseling (Ages 3+)
- Pre-Marital Counseling
- Couples Counseling
- Childhood Abuse or Neglect
- Relationship Issues
- Spiritual Growth
- Co-Dependency/ Boundaries
- Stage of Life Issues
- Grief and Loss
- Emotional Regulation
- Coping Skills
Mallory uses Theraplay-based activities at the Foundational level of Theraplay. Theraplay teaches and supports parents to grow deeper in healthy connection with their children. Theraplay is an evidence based therapy to increase healthy child/caregiver attachment. Mallory enjoys using the playful and directive approach to help adults grow deeper in connection with their child(ren) and for the child to grow deeper in trusting their caregiver.
About Mallory Wendling:
My heart is for children who just need to be loved. I work primarily with children and families to help them better connect with and enjoy each other. No matter the issue you or your child is facing, I can meet you where you are starting and help you move toward hope and healing.
In 2015 I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Social Work in Illinois and joined a crisis response ministry in New Orleans. Although I miss having four seasons, I feel strongly that the Lord has called me to serve in NOLA. I recently graduated with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental health from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In my free time you can find me setting up times to hang out with friends, playing with kids, baking, or working on the next project.
Restoration’s worldview and approach to counseling are informed by the Bible and what it has to say about God and humans, sin and grace, and suffering and healing. We seek to partner with the Holy Spirit and with you to bring about lasting change in your life. We are competent to work with you to integrate your faith beliefs into your counseling process.
Although we are unapologetically Christian in our approach to counseling, we welcome clients from all (or no) faith backgrounds. We work respectfully with you according to your wishes about how to incorporate or not incorporate faith beliefs into your counseling process.
