Welcome and well done for taking the first steps toward health and wholeness! Let’s have a moment of honesty and say that life can be difficult. Sometimes our emotions feel overwhelming, our behaviors seem out of control, our relationships appear unmanageable, or we just can’t seem to find a sense of purpose. Maybe you have tried a lot of strategies to make things better and nothing seems to be working.
Freedom, relief, peace, joy, hope. Many people come to counseling seeking such things and I believe God can use the counseling journey to bring about such restoration. We can all use a little help navigating the issues that life brings, and I would be honored to walk with you as you work toward healing.
What I Can Offer:
Compassion: You may have felt alone in your struggle for a while. You may be experiencing emotions and behaviors you don’t understand. Sometimes we all need someone to hear our story with compassion for our struggle. I consider it an honor to listen to each person’s story and the emotions that come along with it. Not only will I bear witness to your struggles, but I will enter into that story with you as we work together toward change.
Strategy: You are likely considering counseling because you are ready to tackle the problems that are plaguing you! My training in counseling methods can lend expertise and direction as we clarify your goals and decide together on some strategies to help you reach them. Those counseling techniques are brought to life when combined with Biblical wisdom and the power of the Holy Spirit to bring about lasting change.
Perspective: None of us view ourselves and our circumstances completely clearly. In counseling, you can gain perspective on issues that seem confusing. You can gain self-awareness and increase your understanding of the way you relate to God and others. Two heads are better than one. At the same time, even two heads do not see with perfect clarity, so we rely on Biblical wisdom and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to bring graceful truth in the midst of our confusion.

A native Texan, I moved to New Orleans thinking that I wouldn’t like it. Surprise! I love it! Before moving to NOLA, I worked in the youth ministry at a church for four years where God gave me a deep love for teenagers and all the crazy, interesting things they bring to this world. Activities I love include eating breakfast in bed, going to the gym, having good conversations with friends, and playing board games. I dream of becoming a dog owner, dressing my dog in crazy outfits, and taking my dog running with me. I will be THAT dog mom.
