Janna Carroll, SI

Welcome to Restoration! Congrats on taking the first step toward change! Let’s talk about why you’re here. Life is filled with highs and lows and sometimes it can feel like there are more lows than highs. I understand that it can be difficult to allow someone new into all the chaos, especially for all the perfectionists out there! However, Counseling can be one of the most life changing experiences you will have. It can be a time that is filled with growth, in which you see many walls broken down. It can be a season in which you learn new strategies for establishing healthy boundaries in your relationships, gain healthier views of self, and so much more. Christ tells us that the enemy comes to steal our joy, but God desires for us to live the abundant life (John 10:10). If it feels like your days are filled with chaos and stolen joy, and you can’t seem to figure out how to live abundantly, please know that you are not alone! Let me join with you in learning how to live the life God desires for you to live!

What Can I Offer:

A Listening Ear: Sometimes life is hard. Each day has its own set of challenges and there may be days where you feel like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. I am here to listen to you. I want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles. I will hear you and walk through those struggles with you, with the hope of assisting you in the journey of living the full life God has designed for you.

Collaborative Efforts: I am here to work with you in this journey of counseling. We are a team. I won’t tell you how to live your life or what decisions to make, but I will give you resources and work with you on what a healthy life looks like. We will work together to face your struggles and come up with solutions that will work for you in your daily life! Every person is different; what may work for someone else, may not work for you. So, help me get to know you so that we can be an effective team.

A Resource for Change: Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change. I believe that everyone has the ability to make change in

their life, sometimes they just don’t know HOW to make the change. That’s where counseling comes in. While we are in session, we will develop tools and resources as we work through with your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors so that when you leave each session, you have some practical resources and tools to use in daily situations. Change is possible, and it begins with that first step! I consider it a privilege to take those steps towards change with you.
