“Ouch!” It is a phrase we all are familiar with because we all have experienced pain and issues that have caused us discomfort. But there are some hurts, stresses, and other life issues that are immune to bandages. They require a different approach. Leaving those issues untreated can result in frustration, sadness, anxiety and other concerns that can impede your flourishing. I am glad that you have decided you want to address those concerns. It is difficult to manage these troubles alone. I would be honored to join you on your journey and serve you as your counselor. Let me tell you what I can offer you.
Humans are complex beings. Our emotions, minds, and bodies develop patterns that are difficult to understand. As a counselor, I have received training that helps me identify patterns and themes that individuals have developed, which will help you understand more about your behaviors and thoughts in difficult situations.
There are various resources we have available to us that offer us healing for our hurts. As a counselor the interventions, models, and homework assignments I used are filtered through my biblical worldview. I offer you the opportunity to search, meditate, and utilize the bible to help you in your pursuit of restoration.
I believe we all have God-given strengths and skills that are often utilized. As a counselor I have received training in various counseling models. I will help you, through using those models, to utilize and discover your strengths and skills. In other words, I will assist you in identifying, sharpening, and gaining tools.
Who am I?
I have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. I am a husband and father. I was born and raised in rural MS. I am a Ph.D. student in counseling. The kitchen is my art studio and I enjoy merging seasonings to create flavorful dishes. When I am not in the kitchen or my head is not in a book you can find me hanging with my family. I have a desire to see individuals restored and reconciled through the use of counseling and the power of God.
